Brandon Karmann grew up in West Covina and was an Explorer for the California Highway Patrol - Baldwin Park Station. He worked as an intern and as a cadet with the Arcadia Police Department.
Brandon began his career as a police officer with the Arcadia Police Department in 2003. In 2006, he laterally transferred to the West Covina Police Department. During his career, Brandon has been a Special Enforcement Team (SET) member, a robbery detective, a homicide detective, the administrative sergeant, the administrative lieutenant, and, most recently, the lieutenant overseeing the detective bureau. He was also an Explorer advisor and a Less Lethal Cadre member. Brandon received the West Covina Police Department Officer of the Year award in 2015.
Brandon has a bachelor's degree in criminology from the University of La Verne in 2003, where he played on the men's soccer team. He earned a master's degree from Arizona State University in 2014.
