West Covina Recreation Services
Residents are encouraged to browse the Discover West Covina City News and Community Recreation Guide for a full description of the many healthy and productive leisure related services offered by the City of West Covina. For a nominal cost, activities available include recreation classes, Tiny Tots and pre school aged programming, youth and adult sports, seasonal activities, and day care programs.

Teaching a Community Class
Thank you for your interest in teaching a class with the City of West Covina Community Services Division. We are looking for highly skilled, passionate instructors who are interested in teaching leisure/recreational classes.

The Community Services Department offers a variety of recreation classes at an affordable cost. Classes are offered at different levels from beginners to advanced.
Registration Information
- If paying by check, please make checks payable to the City of West Covina.
- All fees must be paid in full at time of registration.
- If you're not satisfied, we want to hear about it!
- A $25 fee will be charged for returned checks.
- There will be a $5 processing fee on all refunds.
- Credit or refunds will not be issued after the class has been completed.
There are two options to register for classes:

Visit the Cameron Community Center during business hours at 1305 E Cameron Ave., at the NW corner of Lark Ellen. For additional information, please contact the Cameron Community Center at 626-919-6966.
General Policies
- Late registrations are accepted if space is available. Full class fee is charged.
- Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Register early! Classes may be canceled if minimum enrollment is not achieved by the first class meeting.
- Many classes have limited enrollment and are subject to closure after reaching maximum capacity.
- Class information is correct and up to date as of the time of publishing. The Community Services Department reserves the right to change information at any time.
Overview
The Community and Senior Services Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters pertaining to the community services needs of the citizens of West Covina relating to public recreational services, cultural activities and special events, youth services, public transportation, neighborhood and human relations, human rights, and senior services. This Commission also provides the major citizen participation vehicle for the City's Community Development Block Grant program as well as a forum for citizen expression and involvement. This Commission provides input to the Planning Commission on the master planning of Parks, and assists with the acquisition, development and maintenance of park and recreation facilities in the community.

The City of West Covina has a very active civic based organizations that represent a full spectrum of interests and activities. These groups help to preserve the history of the community, promote the arts and education, engage children, provide social programs, and help to make West Covina a great place to live, work, and play.
The City of West Covina Community Services Group Mission Statement: The Community Services Group is a collaborate effort of organizations dedicated to promoting community service within the West Covina Community that fosters partnerships and civic engagement.

The West Covina Sports Council is organized under Resolution No. 1241, a Resolution of the City Council of the City of West Covina, adopting certain policies in regard to organized sports in the City of West Covina to:
- Promote organized youth sports activity within the community of West Covina.
- Receive, coordinate and make recommendations to Community Services regarding all requests for the allocations of public facilities.
- Act as a coordinating and liaison agency between the members and the Community Services Department of the City of West Covina.
- Maintain the credibility and prestige of youth sport activities, and the organizations sponsoring these sport activities in the community of West Covina.
